Finished Tasks 3 & 4

I've had people in my library science classes offer article references about libraries and technology to the rest of us and wondered where they found the time to do all of those Internet searches. As I think back on it, I have a vague memory of references to feeds, but until I'd used the technology myself what they said didn't really register. Still, I'm not sure I like the idea of adding more stuff to my life to read and view-- I'm pretty busy already thanks.

I Accept the Challenge

I've been online all day today (which was NOT my original plan). The social networking article was redundant but inspirational nonetheless. I tried out a lot of sites that were mentioned but my favorite was 43 things. Go figure! Social lists for a listmaker. I've only added a few of my goals so far, but here's the site if you're interested: http://www.43things.com/person/av71

I do oppose DOPA because I think it is overkill-- knee-jerk reaction to bad things that happen in this world. I think we have a long way to go at NCPL before we're ready to implement some of the cool uses of social networking that were described though. Still, this tech challenge is a step in the right direction, and I'm very proud of us.

Side note to Emily: I wish some of my professors would take a few lessons from you in terms of relevancy and organization. Brava!
